Every Scarab Is a Promise Reel Five Must Keep

Many Egyptian slots scatter gold across the screen; this one prices every piece of it, then withholds payment. The scarab money symbols landing on reels one to four carry printed values from 1x to 35x total bet, yet alone they pay nothing. Each waits on reel five, where one of five Money Collect badges must land: a straight sum, an extra credit, a Multiplier Collect of up to 25x, an expansion, or a Respin. Free Spins stretch that tension across a whole round. Over eight spins on darker, tomb-blue special reels, every scarab feeds a Super Respin pot instead of paying, and the last spin returns it as a giant money symbol across reels one to four, paid only if reel five delivers again on the final respin, which the rules leave unguaranteed. On 25 Lines with Medium volatility, the deciding question is appetite: steady line hits, or a hoard that can slip away at the last moment.

Game modes

Read these two modes as one system rather than two separate features. In John Hunter and the Tomb of the Scarab Queen, Money Symbols on reels 1-4 carry values of up to 35x, and a Collect symbol on reel 5 decides whether they pay. What separates the modes is when that settlement actually happens.

Base Game

Here the whole loop resolves inside a single spin. Twenty-five fixed Lines pay left to right across the 5x3 grid, with the Money Collect feature layered on top. Each spin, Money Symbols on reels 1-4 draw a random value from 1x to 35x, yet they pay nothing by themselves. Only a Collect symbol landing on reel 5 in that same spin settles them, and five Collect variants can first add credit, multiply, expand or respin the visible values.

Free Spins

Three Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 start the round with 8 spins, and the same combination retriggers 8 more with no limit. The ordering changes here: every Money Symbol value feeds a running Super Respin pot, and the 8th spin is always the Super Spin, returning the accumulated pot as a giant Money Symbol across reels 1-4. One final Respin then decides whether a Collect on reel 5 pays it out.

Launching the game and placing a bet

Pragmatic Play sent its recurring explorer into Egyptian mythology for this 2019 release: 25 fixed Lines on a 5x3 grid, medium volatility, and a Money Collect system that leans on the fifth reel. Each round asks the same thing of you: set a stake, spin, read what the grid gives back, and decide whether to go again.

Set the bet and spin

Adjust the total with the + and − buttons, which also open the bet menu for COINS PER LINE and COIN VALUE; the BET field shows the result, from $0.25 up to $125.00. Press the spin button, or tap SPACE or ENTER, to set the reels going.
Read the outcome and branch

Line wins pay left to right on the 25 Lines. Scarab money symbols on reels 1-4 pay only when a Collect symbol hits reel 5, triggering the Money Collect feature. Three Pyramid Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 award 8 Free Spins with a Super Respin pot settled on the final spin. The loop then resets.
